ONLINE WORSHIP

Join us for online worship on Sunday, June 21, at 10:15 a.m. at https://vimeo.com/channels/1547852

Our worship at Congregational UCC grows out of the current context of our nation and our world. In worship we bring the world before God, we seek to shine the light of scripture upon the world and ourselves so that in faith we can respond to its challenges and receive its comfort.
It is a great understatement to say that there is a lot going on right now. Pandemic. Economic turmoil. Calls for racial justice. With Juneteenth this past Friday and the Virtual Pride Fest in Iowa City this weekend there is much that calls for our attention and response. Given the need for some planning in advance, the choice was made to put the focus on Pride today and turn to a consideration of justice and freedom next week. Doing so is not to suggest that one issue is more important than others, it’s just that no one service or sermon can encompass all things.
