Join Us for Worship--Third Sunday of Lent

Today is the Third Sunday of Lent. On these Sundays in Lent we are reading the Gospel accounts of events in the last week of Jesus’ earthly life. In chapter 12 of Mark’s Gospel, various religious authorities question Jesus. Most are hostile, but here Jesus encounters a sympathetic scribe. Scribes had knowledge of the Torah and could draft legal documents. He asks a question about the commandments. Jesus replies by quoting Deuteronomy and adding to it.
